Bought as a front "wardrobe" in our very large but poorly planned apartment. We added an extra shelf for more storage and placed baskets for hats, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. on the two shelves. The few lower shelves are for shoes and shoes. Then we added a chrome DecoBros hanger on one side for hanging coats and jackets. And two more coat hooks hung at one end for hanging bags, wallets, and scarves. We went back to the Revain and bought another to use as an informal kitchen pantry. We've added another shelf again for extra storage. We filled the shelf to capacity with clear acrylic containers (Rubbermaid Professional Kitchen 12L Storage Jars and various sizes of InterDesign fridges and pantries) containing tons of baby food jars, spice jars, etc. Please see my picture to get an idea of the monumental amount of food you can get on one of the shelves if you are creative enough and maybe played a lot of tetris as a kid. We deliberately placed the bottom shelf quite high (since it's in the open plan apartment next to our front door) so we could leave our rain or snow boots on the rug in front of the fan to dry overnight each night. Shelving units have been secured to the wall with anti-tip brackets, not only to prevent a child or toddler from tipping them over, but because we didn't put them far from the walls on either side of our front door - we've got them if you do enter, they almost form a corridor for a short way, and I could see even a clumsy adult knocking over the pole. Regardless, the manufacturer says heavy items should be placed on the bottom and light items on top, but that wouldn't have worked for us. I still recommend using rollover suspenders whether you have kids or not. This rack is only a few inches shorter than me, and with the amount of stuff we have on one of them, it would probably kill me if it tipped over on me. as items tend to tip over or otherwise fall through on shelves. With around 100 pound jars on some shelves, they still don't flex and are very strong when standing on the leveling feet rather than the casters they come with. I would definitely recommend these chrome shelves to anyone who needs more storage or stylish storage in their home or office that is also very durable. the above two blocks - the preparation of additional shelves from the spare block. When I did that I kind of ended up with two chrome elements and one UltraZinc element. If I point this out to someone standing next to them, they might notice the zinc shelves on the chrome posts, but otherwise they're similar enough in luster and color that they could easily be used interchangeably. I am still very happy with my shelving and have a lot more chrome wire shelving around my house now. Years of stress on my shelves hasn't warped them at all!
