I glued these stencils on wood. Instead of painting directly on it, I traced the images on the tree and then colored them. I've never tried this before but read other reviews that said if you use stencils on wood the paint will bleed when applied. I didn't want to risk it (the wood I used has deep grooves) which would be difficult to prevent bleeding. So I did it my way and they turned out great. I will use them again and again, I'm sure. You can use them on different surfaces, metal, plastic, wood and paper, they will all look great!
