I know this thing gets a lot of positive reviews but it's such crap I can't understand why people like it other than it's pretty cheap. First, this thing is a lot wider than your computer or magazine, so it takes up a lot of room on the side of your legs. Second, the legs aren't infinitely adjustable, so it sits at an angle on a sofa or chair and moves just like you. Third, you can't set it too high or too low, and the sturdy plastic feet glide over hard surfaces. I tried to give my son a "gift”, but he also thought it was useless and threw it in a corner. I just took it out and couldn't type with it on the couch, and when I put my laptop on my coffee table, the awful stand slid across the table while typing, knocked a glass of soda on the tabra, and broke my TV remote. Absolutely useless junk - chipboard on thin hard aluminum legs.
