USB hub that lets you charge your computer and expand USB ports

This is a great little USB-C hub. The cable to the PC is USB-C, and the three ports are old-school USB ports that manufacturers don't use in laptops anymore (seriously folks. All my stuff still uses old USB cable ports). This adapter gives you three of those ports plus a USB-C port. That's good, because that USB-C port is for pass-through charging. I charge my laptop with a USB-C cable (I also use a Uni brand cable that will work for about a year). So if I traditionally use an adapter that plugs into that USB port, it means I can't charge my laptop. It sucks. Not so with this hub! I can plug my power adapter into the hub's USB-C port, plug the hub in, and charge while using all three USB ports on the hub. It's great that you no longer have to choose between using a USB adapter and charging your laptop. The device itself is small but sturdy. It's made of aluminum, so it should be able to withstand bumps and splashes while traveling. I haven't noticed any heat issues when using it, but I haven't used it for a long time either. When I use it with a single USB device and charge my laptop at the same time, it got a little warm and that's it. Overall this is a good little adapter that fits nicely in my briefcase and allows you to charge it while using it. Perfect for my needs.
