Review on πŸ’» Silver Microsoft Surface Keyboard - WS2-00025 by Gregory Rasmussen

I like electronics

The keys are comfortable and quiet. Typing is not a rigorous exercise for my finger muscles. The keys are a little harder to press than on the keyboard on my Samsung laptop that I bought six years ago. This was disappointing at first, but I found that once I plugged it into my computer and started concentrating on my work, the keyboard didn't get in the way at all. One thing I really didn't like was the loud spacebar. Even though I tried hard enough, the spacebar made a loud pop. I checked and found the reason was that the key springs were too strong. If a key is pressed and then released, the springs will bounce off the key too much. The key flies up and then slams back against the saddle. When hitting back, a hitting sound is produced. I therefore returned another Microsoft keyboard a week ago. This time I decided to fix it myself. There are three pieces of tape attached to the spacebar to cushion and fix the upward release as shown in the photos. The ribbons do not interfere with the normal movement of the key. Only excessive exercise is limited. After that, the space bar is just as good as the other keys and I can really enjoy the keyboard. I really wish the people at Microsoft would pay more attention to this. It won't be a good job if you don't pay attention to all the details.
