I bought this nozzle mainly because of the type of material used which I thought catches and holds dust (instead of the old ones I had which were more like that was a brush and all the dust would blow up). But the main benefit for me was the ad saying you could take it off the frame and throw it in the washing machine. The problem is that the base underneath is some kind of rubber product on the main frame. How are you supposed to detach the heavy, thick material from the rubber frame and, above all, get it to slide again? it just doesn't make sense. I'll try to gently machine wash it while still attached to the frame/neck and hope for the best. Also my old one which I used to wet a bit to collect dust and hold on. I made a mistake doing it and it's going to be so difficult that you can hardly control it. Being able to remove this "sock" from the frame was the reason for my purchase. With a rubber-covered frame, it's impractical to think anyone can handle it without investing a great deal of time, effort, and swearing. 2 stars
