Review on End Flange Bearing Plates for Residential Application by Andrew Schreider

Revainrating 5 out of 5

12 gauge 2.6mm as advertised made in Canada

My Duralift DLK16 kit comes with 2.4mm endplates so I replaced them with these. They are much more thoughtful and match the Duralift flags perfectly. Not sure how Duralift screwed up their design, both end plates are the same size but this brand fits together perfectly while Duralift's own plate doesn't, weird. The bearing is definitely a sleeve, like the Duralift. In fact, almost all bearings on the market are bushings. You can just shake them right out of the box and hear them play - not good. So I just finally ordered a Donepart 1641NR-2RS ball bearing, these 2RS are rated 3 times the standard plain bearings (1250lbs vs. 400lbs static load). And this is the only one I can find that comes with a locking ring to keep it in place. Fingers crossed, we'll see how it goes. For those of you who want to know how to remove a warehouse, it's not difficult. There are several possibilities for this. The best method is to use a HF hydraulic press. I just use a 6" vise to take it off and put it on. You can just buy an HF hole cutting kit for a few bucks, make your own size out of 2x4 and attach to the vise. Finally, let's make sure you replace those Chinese sleeve bearings - yes, they're made in China, but the plates are assembled in Canada. Those plain bearings will freeze you in a few years, knowing that this project is an ordeal that you will need to do. Get it right the first time so you can forget about it Don't forget to take your time, make sure everything is properly aligned and level, slow fast :)
