This is a fantastic ring lamp! If handled properly, it should last a long time. One thing the seller doesn't explain in the product description is the plastic color filter kit. The orange filter is used to convert the ring lamp's daylight color to an artificial light balance. This is important if you're shooting with incandescent bulbs (like the "old fashioned" bulbs that many homes still have) and your camera is set to either incandescent or auto white balance. I use this light in my studio when shooting video and use the modeling light from my studio flashes to illuminate the subject. If I didn't use an orange filter on the ring light, its color balance would be daylight, which wouldn't match well with the color of the light from my strobe modeling lights. I'm assuming the white filters just diffuse the light. therefore, it does not create harsh shadows on the subject. The filters snap onto the ring light very securely so they don't fall off. Just be careful not to use too much force as I bet they will break like all plastic items if used improperly. In the attached photos you can see the ring light used to illuminate the green screen. Orange filters are attached to the ring light. As I rarely use this ring light it appears to be a quality product that does its job perfectly.
