Review on ๐Ÿ” YKK 50-1 Inch Wide Mouth Heavyduty Triglide Slides: Ultimate Strength, Slide Efficiency, and Durability at its Best by Morgan Gilmore

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Premium 1 inch zipper

YKK is known for making the highest quality and strongest zippers and these guides live up to that reputation. 1 inch nylon webbing (when barely taut) but will snap into place when there is enough tension. The tines are well thought out: they give the webbing the necessary support without excessive wear on the webbing. Plastic is suitable for this: very strong, not brittle, certainly not cheap junk. Since I had 50 of these slides, I subjected one of them to a destruction test. It took a lot of effort to bend and eventually break it. Enough malleability to take many punishments. Despite my strong hands, I had to use two pairs of pliers to break the bolt. As expected, the glider broke first at the teeth of the outer rails (with the "slots" of the teeth already in place). The middle bar is a bit stiffer and resists breaking much better than expected. If anyone from YKK is reading this, I'm not sure it will make a difference, but I have a small suggestion that might improve the strap's grip in the light. Tension: Insert a couple of prongs into the top edges of the center bar. The outer bars grip the top strap and the center bar teeth should grip the bottom strap. Conclusion: These guides definitely live up to YKK's good reputation.
