Review on Samsung BAR Plus 128GB USB 3.1 Flash Drive - 400MB/s - Champagne Silver (MUF-128BE3/AM) by Patrick Nepal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fast for the price, great keychain form factor, consistent performance across devices, stylish - see DiskMark results

Bought three of these 64GB Samsung BAR plus, two for use in a key chain, one for easy use on my desk. Make sure Revain was the seller to avoid the risk of buying non-genuine Samsung parts. I just got here and did a quick record of each one with CrystalDiskMark so I can verify that each is working and compare speeds between devices. All three tests differed from each other by about 2% in each test. Importantly, sequential read speeds in every case exceeded the advertised 200 MB/s and averaged 224 MB/s. The records were all 34MB/s. All testing was done on my Lenovo Flex5 laptop with a USB 3.0 port. Obviously the sequential read speed uses USB 3.0 bandwidth. Overall very happy with the price and the stainless steel body, handy for a keychain. Note. I put a cap on the USB end of each connector with caps from Honbay. I wanted a little more protection against dents and elements when using on key chains. These Honbay cases fit well but are relatively easy to remove. They resemble TPR, which is good for grip and flexibility. Pros + Overall pretty fast for the price and clearly very fast on sequential reads. USB ports are a bit longer than really small USB sticks meant to be plugged in permanently, so they don't interfere with neighboring ports, but they slide in and out as a result very easily, especially with the raised end next to the strap hole. offers good support. + Hangs beautifully on my keychain, Maxpedition Gear Keyper Maxpedition Gear Keyper, Foliage Green with the FREEkey ring, absolutely the most secure rings you can buy in my experience. Replacement rings for FREEkey accessories, 10 pieces. It gets hot at higher write speeds, but not hot enough to be a concern. There is no reliability data yet, it will be updated if I find problems.
