I restore a LOT of bikes - kids and adults and have used a LOT of these grips. I install them with a metal washer in the base to keep kids from cutting the closed end out by dropping the bike on the handlebar. Use the back end of a toothbrush inserted into the washer hole and push the washer down to the base. I also use a toothbrush to smear alcohol down into the grip and then some on the bar. After its pushed on the bar the alcohol evaporates and you have to cut the grip to get it back off. The O.D. fits perfect every time. Use a blade to slice the old grip off. Time to swap out old grips - about 5 minutes.
