This new jug is perfect for my needs because I wanted a glass jug that could handle both hot and cold liquids. It was the only one I could find online that had this option. This means you can brew tea, packaged or loose, with boiling water in the pot yourself (as well as loose herbal tea). I also really like the cap on the top, which can be attached separately or with the included strainer. There are small straining slots on the lid and combined with a mesh strainer, you can infuse crystal clear tea without any dust or residue. So you can proceed to brewing tea. to cool it down. to pour, all in one jug, in one operation. The glass will last. The glass jug also has a beautiful modern shape. If I doubt it, it's that the jug holds less liquid than I'd personally like, but that's a very minor nitpick. I love it.
