My dear mother taught me to use a separate spray bottle instead of pouring water into the iron. The water in your iron creates deposits that turn out to be stains unless you use distilled water, which I don't have time for. However, you still somehow get distilled deposits. When I started making enough money to iron my shirts, I found that I was too slow and paying someone a few dollars to wash and iron my shirts was more efficient. . Then I started using the iron on skis and snowboards. Fast forward to today. I ended up having to mend some clothes so this iron and patch was cheaper than going to a tailor/remodeler. The iron is nice and light, heats well and is as good as irons from 20-30 years ago. I'll probably use it for touch ups as needed. And I've already used it to melt the glue on a bad book cover.
