For a rescue dog who was starving and covered in mange when I got him as a puppy, after 4 years of pampering my dog became quite a picky eater. I tried about a dozen food stamps trying to figure out what he would eat. He is relatively tolerant of the Merrick Whole Earth Farms brand (i.e. he will eventually eat it if nothing else is available). To try and get him to eat more regularly and not waste an hour eating when I'm trying to go to work in the morning, I buy packets of this food (or one of the other flavors) and mix some into his regular food and now he mows it (chooses this stuff and eats it first and then eats the rest of their food). The salmon flavor is by far the strongest of the three we tried, so be warned if the fishy smell makes you vomit. I like that it is potato and grain free as my dog tends to bulk up when eating a food with a lot of fillers. He also liked Nutrisca's "raw" food, but it was too dirty and oily for my liking.
