Genuine product was gentle. Unlike many other cleansers, it didn't cause breakouts. However, my skin was so dry afterwards that if I forgot to lather up my facial moisturizer my face would feel terribly dry all day until I washed my face again and THEN used the cream. I didn't even use the first bottle and had to throw it away and give the second to a friend. She reports that on average she has very oily skin and seems to respond much better to it. Even then, she said it didn't look like anything special and she wouldn't buy it again.
