The bristles are too loose, not good for anything

Bought this brush to replace my old shading/priming brush. While it may look the same, it definitely isn't: the bristles are soft and loosely packed, allowing product to easily soak into the bristle base. It feels soft on the skin, but the looseness of the brush makes it difficult to apply or blend. Instead I tried using it as a face powder and that didn't work either. It's an odd balance between hardness and super flexibility, making it impossible to use this brush with a range of products. Tl;Dr - decently made brush, but too loose and not suitable for applying foundation (or powder).
