I bought this product because the description said waterproof. This is an incorrect description as this product is not waterproof in any way. Water can easily penetrate and cause an electric shock. I suspect the seller is suggesting that the small piece of rubber between the plug and socket somehow qualifies as waterproof. In this case, it gives the word a whole new meaning. The whole premise of my purchase was that I could ensure that water would not get between the plug and socket when used outdoors. This is not the case as there is no seal anywhere to prevent water ingress. Not between the two halves, not around the holes where the wires go in and out. Therefore, water can easily enter through this opening and cause an electric shock if used in a very humid environment. Overall, the plastic is durable and offers some protection from the elements when used outdoors. However, I bought it because it doesn't have "water resistance". Hence the reason for the 1 star. If that's not a big deal then it's definitely a good buy.
