The overall design, construction and materials used appear to be premium. The fabric cover is very good quality and fits snug enough I haven't bothered to remove it. I may have to remove the cap one day if it gets dirty enough, but for now I'm leaving it in place to avoid damaging it. It's not a lightweight device, and it's not something you can carry around outside of a car or the like. The 1/2 gallon version may be the best choice for one person's daily water requirement. I bought this to use in my car when traveling as it is much less likely to have access to fountains these days due to Covid restrictions. I tested it by putting 1/3 of the ice cubes in and then tap water and leaving it at home. After 36 hours, when I emptied it, ice was still floating. I have just returned from a 2 day trip where the pitcher was half filled with ice cubes then water and stayed in my truck throughout the trip where the temperature varied between 75 and 90 degrees. Again 36 hours later I emptied the contents and there were still a few cups of ice floating in there. Really better performance than I expected.
