Review on RMP Stamping Blanks Heart Gauge by Barbara Simmons

Strange streaks and discoloration

I had received some great blanks from RMP in the past so I was sure I had ordered them for an event and had someone bring them to the venue. In the end I was very disappointed. $14.95 for 20 is way more expensive than some blanks but I wanted good quality and good thickness. They arrived with strange stripes. The second photo in the listing shows some steps but I thought it might be the plating or the lighting. In person, it's dramatic and almost looks like a golden zebra! It will not come off when cleaned or lightly polished (travel light for a wedding). The surface also leaves a stain from the marker shading (my only option for importing the shading with the current road set). They are so different from the beautiful RMP. I have ordered aluminum blanks for tokens. I will say that they have a good thickness. Just remember, you're not getting a nice pure brass heart, you're getting odd striped ones. They also appear to be smudged and have a few watermarks. Not what was expected for the price. I'm giving away a set of charms for a bachelorette party, but if it wasn't necessary to throw a party I'll definitely be returning them. I couldn't sell stamps made in it either. It's a pity really, because I can't be particularly proud of how my work turned out with this batch just because of the surface of the blanks.
