Sorry but these socks are not warm, they are scratchy and thin, very dense and made from a blend of 1% wool and 99% lycra and polyester. I overpaid when I bought them for $1.99 a few months ago. The price the next day was $19.99 so I suspect my price was a mistake when they left out the last 9 when entering the price. If I paid $19.99 for it, I would stuff them with rocks, tie them around my ankles, and jump off the boat. I'm not sure where a person has read about not drying them because I haven't seen care instructions, but then again I haven't worn them long enough to care. Except that they ended up in the washer and dryer and after they were removed it was obvious that they were noticeably shrinking and very, very wrinkled. I've never heard of socks that need ironing, but obviously they exist.
