We belong to the CSA and we get big heads of lettuce and other vegetables every week. If we don't wrap them in plastic, they will wither in our fridge before we can eat them. I didn't want to start buying a bunch of plastic bags that will be used once or more before they fall apart and then get thrown away. You have done a great job. I can easily close them all the way or leave them partially open to let air in, depending on what's inside. I followed the advice of others and avoided washing in hot water and they held up well. I would recommend getting a dryer big enough to hold a 2 gallon size. (I have a FloWorks bag/bottle dryer that dries bags quickly.)
