I've been borrowing other people's 3D printers for a while and decided it was time to get my own. After reading the reviews and getting suggestions from friends, I settled on the Creality Ender 3 Pro. This printer has many of the basics I was looking for and is reasonably priced. I chose the Ender 3 Pro because the Ender 3 was highly praised and added the additional features of the Pro version. An improved power supply, flexible magnetic printing surface, and improved alignment helped me use this model. I have to say I was a bit concerned that the printer would be partially assembled as this meant I had to assemble part of it myself when it arrived, but although it took just over an hour to assemble it was nice to do see how it went everything fits together. , just in case I need to fix something later. I will say that the assembly instructions can be a bit vague at times, especially with pre-wired cables, but I only had to go back once. I haven't really looked to see if there's an option, but I think in the future I'd prefer to have the printer fully assembled next time. The fact that they included all the tools needed to assemble the printer was also a nice touch as I didn't have to hunt for my own tools to assemble it. While printing, I think the quick heat-up and resume printer after idle are nice features, so I don't necessarily have to waste filament in this case. The flexible magnetic print base is a nice feature, especially when printed models are off the print surface, but it's a little tricky to realign the pad once it's off the base. I'm not entirely sure if there's an easier way, as this is what happens when you use magnets. However, it definitely keeps the pad secure once placed on the base. Leveling the base is fairly easy with the dials on each corner of the base, and it didn't take long to set up and level the printer. The filament spindle stand is handy and can be adjusted to ensure the spindle is in the right place to feed into the printer. The only small issue I had was getting my computer to recognize the printer since the driver is in the flash. The drive didn't seem to want to recognize the model but I downloaded a different version of the driver from the Creality website and it worked fine but basically I used the microsd card that came with it to load the models and play straight from the printer to print. So I don't have to worry about losing connection to a computer while printing. The included Creality Slicer software is nice, especially in Basic and Expert modes. I've found that there are better alternatives for editing and designing 3D models, but for setting up a print job, the included software does a great job. Overall, I'm happy with my decision to purchase the Creality Ender 3 Pro. , and would definitely do it again given the choice in this price range. I look forward to many great prints in the future!
