Review on Convenient Airport-Friendly Beep Belts: Free Belts for Men's Accessories by Lee Rodriguez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works as advertised and durable. It may or may not be an acceptable style for business trips.

Tired of taking off your belt every time you go through an airport security checkpoint or rolling the dice to decide if there's a TSA preflight this time? If so, then the Beep Free belt is for you. The buckle is plastic so metal detectors won't work, and there are no metal clasps on the belt itself. It only comes in gloss black whether you get the black belt or tan. Some reviewers have mentioned that the buckle is brittle and will break, but I've had the same belt and the buckle has never broken in five years. I only bought it because my waist size has shrunk significantly. The leather strap is thick and durable and the finish hasn't chipped, cracked or peeled off like the previous strap I've had and I don't think it will. Fits perfectly. Just read the measurement instructions before choosing your size. I have used this strap both domestically and internationally and have never had to remove it or trigger a detector. Definitely don't worry about a belt when there are so many other things like shoes, electronics, toiletries, keys, wallet, watch. . . One thing to note is that I think the style and width of the belt resembles a belt for jeans, not a dress. When using this on dress pants or khakis the belt will fill the height of the loops. It's not that it looks bad, but it just doesn't look as pretty as your nicely tailored skinny belts with a shiny buckle. I used to be a bit awkward on business trips, but nobody told me anything, so I practically left my belt at home on business trips to save space and weight. There is another company that makes metal free belts that look like nice suit belts, but they are about 2-3 times more expensive than this and use carbon fiber for their buckle. This belt is a bit pricey in my opinion considering what it is made of and compared to the build quality of dress belts that are roughly the same price. But now they have limited competition, and the convenience of getting through security as quickly as possible has made the price affordable. Check first, I would recommend this belt. For those who don't travel much, consider how else you could use this strap. Whether you frequently walk through a government building, go to sporting events or concerts, or even amusement parks that have a metal detector, it can save you time and frustration, and it will work.

Pros
  • Received belt just fits good quality
Cons
  • Can be uncomfortable if worn for a long time.
