I bought my 2 year old daughter about 5-6 cheap decks of cards to help her deal with her language deficit. There were problems with cheap cards like "First Word"1. The pictures were cartoony2. Every deck had almost the SAME words3. Words were often useless vocabulary so I spent $ on it and I'm VERY glad I did. Very realistic pictures and scenarios and you can connect vocabulary. My daughter is definitely expanding her vocabulary with these words. Therefore, they are worth every penny. She also works with a speech therapist. I would not use them as a substitute for speech therapy. However, I think they are BIG reinforcements. Also, I am a special education teacher and the SLP on my campus uses this set in their practice.
