These towels were washed twice before use, and there was a lot of fluff and lint on the first wash. The second wash still had noticeable lint and less pilling, but the towels and washcloths ran out of lint or lint that I didn't want to use. When you first use the wipes, you will be impressed by their softness. Unexpectedly, the towels leave my wife and I slightly damp. Thinking that there might still be some "finish" left on the material, they were washed again. The lint level is still higher than most other new towels, but not as heavy as the first two washes. The absorbency doesn't seem to have improved yet, but these are the first hand towels I've ever bought that weren't 100% cotton. The dye is also sensitive to benzoyl peroxide as I'm already seeing color changes on my towel when I use the facial cleanser in the shower and rinse fairly well; These are the first towels to discolor so quickly. I love the feel of these towels but I probably wouldn't buy them again.
