Bought this cable while waiting for a new computer. A year later I got a new computer. However, the key code I originally received was forgotten somewhere. Luckily, Plugable customer service was able to get it for me (after showing them my Amazon order number and date). When I transferred my documents, photos and data to Outlook, it was easy. The cable came with a disc, but I downloaded the software from the website on each computer to ensure the latest software was installed. Then I connected the two computers and told the dialog which computer was the old one, and let it break. It took about 1.5 hours to move 4000 pixels and I don't know how many documents they seem to have copied everything. One thing to note, my new computer has both an SSD and a hard drive and I first had to go to the new computer settings and specify that new data, programs and applications should be downloaded to the hard drive (in this case e: ) disk, since it was the biggest. The SDD drive was for Windows OS and Onedrive. If I hadn't done this before the migration, everything would probably have tried to move to the c: drive and failed.
