We bought these for our 3 year old almost two years ago and we still use them every day! Now that some of them are gone (with a baby in the house over time it seems) and we have another baby, I'm back to order a second set! They are gorgeous, look mature/real and obviously work the same way. Also very nice in a cutlery drawer if you don't like a lot of bright colors if you don't have a lot of stuff in your house. Nothing negative to say here. They are just as sharp as life size cutlery. So if your child isn't old enough to feed them with a regular metal fork, stop at baby essentials for now and wait. Our 3 year old had an independent mind early on and wanted to eat, motor skills were strong enough that we weren't worried about him hurting himself so we tried them and they worked great. We used them almost every day for two years, washed them in the dishwasher like any other cutlery and had no problems with sharp or broken items. They are perfectly preserved and exactly as the day we received them. My toddler loves them but more importantly puts them to good use. They are quite functional. Not sure what the sharp edges or discoloration are complaining about as we didn't have any of those issues. This is the usual silverware, only smaller. The only thing I would like to say is that we have never used or needed knives, so I cannot complain about them. But the forks and spoons were a great purchase for our family and at a great price we came back to buy new ones.
