So I got these for work pants which required cargo pants. I'm usually a size small and ordered a size small and they definitely fit. They do go allllll the way up to your belly button, you cant pull them down they just go back up. There's still wiggle room even for a small so that's good. They are comfortable except I still need to get used to pants that go all the way up to your belly button. For hiking, work highly recommend. I am a yoga teacher so when it comes to exercise I dont see these as compatible. I'm 5'4 115 (on a good day) -120ish. Hope this helps
