I've tried several stands over the years - albeit in very different configurations and for different purposes - but this one has a few features that make it stand out. First she gets up to read. (up to a reasonable amount) without being overly complicated. I like the rubber/textured back of the tablet stand that provides a firm grip on the device. I love that it can hold my iPads (various models, including the Pro) firmly without squeezing them into the top and bottom spring-loaded arms, making it easy to attach and detach. Haven't tried it with a Surface but I think it will work for that too. It is very stable in all directions and, unlike some stands, it does not suddenly lose its inclination due to poorly designed connections that have to be constantly tightened. I love the rubber feet on the bottom. And I appreciate the smooth folding of everything together. So it's very portable! So far, after a few weeks of ownership, I have nothing but praise for it. I order a second one.
