I have 12 bluetooth speakers, each for a different purpose. It doesn't "adequately" fill a room with music. But for personal use when it's around you, this little one is just great. For my living room I have a Creative Roar in the corner on top of my wine tower and it plays amazing flat clean smooth rich music. But I can't put it in my pocket, take it everywhere, to work, visit a friend, etc. I'm a music lover and I can't take it "almost" everywhere. And this is where the Jambox Mini shines. For its size and portability, I haven't heard better speaker sound. It's true that it's not that loud. But it's a lifestyle companion speaker, and it's loud enough for its purpose, and the battery life is great. I got 8-10 hours with normal usage. And around 3pm when I keep the volume down for light background music. The amazing thing about this speaker is its live audio capability. You won't notice or appreciate it until you listen to the right song or file. If you ever get the chance, listen to Riders of the Storm by the Doors. Close your eyes, hold the speaker relatively close to you at ear level, and you "feel" the music. I have a lot more to say about what that sounds like, but I don't want to spoil the experience for you. It "confuses" you. Again, this is not a "loud" speaker. But for its size and what it's designed for, it's exceptional.
