The Galaxy Tab 4 is too thin for me to hold comfortably. The fact that the screen almost reaches the edge doesn't make it any easier. I wanted something easy to hold on to. There is no screen protector, but you can easily add one. The case itself can provide some protection in the event of a fall. The texture on the back is more or less non-slip. The texture feels good in the hand. No smell like some rubber products. A little soft so for me it's perfect for my needs.
