A pair of microphones was purchased to cover a class for a group discussion between 15 students. Two interconnected microphones placed on a stand or school desk cannot cover a radius greater than 3.5 meters (total circumference). We got the same (if not better!) results with a Samson UB1, which of course costs $99 + shipping (August 2020). There is no cheap solution to connect a video conferencing microphone or two directly to a computer to enable group work of more than 6-9 people (even without considering social distancing).
