I've been making YouTube videos during quarantine and the lighting has become a real bane for me. I keep buying different lamps and trying to improve the situation, but I'm working on a small set. I'm learning more about light placement and have found that I need lights in places where I don't have space to put them, so I need to get creative. I use my phone (at the moment) for filming on a tripod, so being able to mount it on my phone gives me the ability to bring some light into an area where I don't have room for another stand , and it was very helpful for balance out other lights and reduce weird shadows. It has cool, warm, or mixed light options and can be brightened or dimmed to achieve the desired result. I've found that my glasses glare less than my ring light, possibly because they're more adjustable and it's easier for me to find the right angle to keep them out of my eyes. I'm also impressed with the battery life. It would be very inconvenient if I had to pause filming to charge it or leave it on while filming. So far, I am very satisfied. I can replace it with something more complex when I figure out what I'm doing, but for now it's an inexpensive but very useful solution.
