Cactus Scratch - Cats

This scratching post is adorable! The base of the shaggy rug and the arms of the cactus look like a real prickly pear. The trunk of the scratching post is made of green sisal. The branches of the cactus are filled with fibrous filler so they are soft, and a red fluffy ball is attached to a green elastic cord at the top of the cactus. Its length from the top of the cactus to the base is 25 inches. The base is oval and dense. As a result, this scratching post is not as stable as a square-based scratching post. (I have both types of bases.) So when the cats play and jump on the "long" axis, it's stable. However, it tends to wobble and may fall on the "narrow" axis depending on how your cat strikes. If he just pulls and scratches his kitten, that's no problem at all. I had a little problem attaching the top of a cactus to a sisal pole. There are very short threads at the top of the rod. But I only removed the carpet from the top of the post to allow the pieces to match. Then the top slides in easily. This is not a design flaw. You just have to make sure that the black plastic bases on each part are flush with each other.
