The product works well, but only if you know what you are doing. Please note this is not a product defect, I just don't want people to think this is a bad product because they aren't set up correctly. You'll need a mallet (ideally I just have a hammer) to set the blade height exactly where you want it. The quality is good, but looks a bit rough. For those who shave their own katsuobushi but want to save a few bucks I would say this is a good option.
