The Hefty's are much better as they are NOT broken at the time of this review, plus you get more than twice as many cymbals (22 vs 10), and at the time of my purchase ($12.95) it was only $1. An added bonus to Hefty brand records is that they have more "real estate". Space to store more food while the Party Essential has more useless raised side decorations. Add a flatter surface to hold food and make it more durable and I'd try again. Incidentally, none of the Hefty brand cymbals cracked where they did as I had to throw out some cymbals after a single use due to cracking.
