It's hard to describe how this product differs from all other beard products I've used. I have literally tried most of the popular oils/balms/beard balms on the market. 95% of them are very similar in performance. Basically, it comes down to how much they maintain style and aromatic profile. What I've found about the Live Bart products is that every scent profile they offer is "smoky" to some degree. Which is good, especially for a winter scent on a lumberjack. They think this product really sets it apart. It's almost creamy. And after application, it becomes sticky. Don't get me wrong, the stickiness allows for a bit of hold. But the comb is difficult to pull. Live Bearded will not be my everyday item, but I will keep it for specific occasions. UPDATE: I bought a second container of this oil with a different flavor. The product looked and worked COMPLETELY differently than the first container. The first was a creamy lotion while the second was more like a waxy, almost clear balm. I'm not thrilled with how any of this works with my beard, but apparently a living beard oil for a beard is like a box of chocolates.
