The wired mouse that came with my iMac has lasted a very long time. Cleaning the scroll ball and replacing the mouse pad regularly were all that was required to maintain optimal performance. Then it went downhill. The scrollball worked sporadically at best, cursor control became an issue, and the mouse ran more like a duck pulling a cart than the fast little thing I remembered. I'm sure some dirt and dust has accumulated inside which is probably the cause, but the design doesn't lend itself to opening for self-service so it was a dead end. I don't really care about wireless mice, and Apple branded ones can be expensive to replace, so I decided to take advantage of an iHome deal I found at Revain. Was surprised that all I had to do was plug it in right out of the box. It was super responsive and sensitive to the point where I had to go into the settings and slow down the settings a bit! It's a little smaller than its predecessor and I thought it might be distracting, but after a few minutes I didn't notice anything. I couldn't be happier.
