Bag itself 13 inch I have a new 12.5 inch laptop and it is tight but fits. I still like this bag but I will look for another one that fits a new laptop better. I've only had them for a few days but I already like them. I didn't have to carry it on my shoulder, so long-term use and comfort are unknown. Dual zippers are on the accessory pocket only. That makes sense because if you need to open the main compartment, you'll take out your laptop. Enough padding, the bag keeps its shape. No pen/pencil stand. There is an inner pocket on the outside of the accessory, which can be used for such things, a small notepad. Looks high quality. Rings and latches are plastic, but not the worst quality. The plastic helps keep the weight down and is strong enough for the style and purpose of the bag.
