Some tips for buying and installing

Installed a few minutes ago so can't comment on the work yet. But some tips so far: 1. Be very careful to distinguish between wired models (part number ends with HW) and plug-in version (ends with PL). The one I installed is actually the second one that was sent to me - the first one, from another vendor, definitely said "plugin" in the description, but they sent me the hardware version, and of course when I got the part number checked again, they stated ended in HW.2. The cord is said to be 6ft, but the device they sent me is definitely not. The cord is strong and twisted; I would estimate the maximum it can pull out to be around 30 inches, but you have to pull really really hard to straighten it. The cable exits the base on the right side, so plan your connector accordingly. Luckily my fork was only 1 foot away from me. When hanging, there are only very small tolerances - make sure that the mounting points are drilled very precisely. I slightly loosened the screws between the brackets and the main unit to give a little "slack".4. Before tightening the same screws, make sure the plastic sleeve on the wall side lines up with the small hole in the bracket to allow the set screw to fit through. And I recommend partially installing these installation screws before hanging them on the wall.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Good but not great
