The belt is normal. It's not fantastic, but it's fine for a casual men's brown belt and will probably last a couple of years. The color of the belt is a fairly neutral brown so it goes well with many of my brown shoes and boots. If anything, it's slightly closer to brown-red than the yellow-orange-brown spectrum. I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the leather used in this belt. The raw backing immediately started tearing and it is clear that this is not premium leather and has not been conditioned in any way. The skin looks very dry. Fossil belts used to be made out of nice, soft, high quality leather and it doesn't have the qualities of Fossil belts I saw years ago. Haven't tried it yet but plan to do so to see if it softens the skin a little. I have this belt in brown and cognac. Cognac is 1 year older and a little softer after a year of wearing, but it has the same dry skin that cracks. Both colors are great though and I think they look great with chinos, jeans and a matching pair of brown pumps. Overall, these are decent leather belts that will last a few years. With conditioning, they can last much longer. It's not like they'll fall apart after a few years, but I'm wondering if they'll get a good patina or if they just rip from dry skin.
