I have been regularly looking for a good product for more than 5 years. I bought expensive junk for years. Almost given up hope of even getting a wearable. What I didn't know is that Maxar comes in three quality levels. The deluxe is amazing. The main body is made of rigid mesh with metal spiral braces and wide side straps for a snug, controlled fit. Thus there is no folding, sagging or bulging as long as they are tightly packed. Most other products taper too much at the front, that's not a problem with the Maxar. No side slits due to narrow straps. I recommend going down a size if you're on the verge of the next size up anyway. Suppose you are 40 inch waist and XL size is 40-44, you are welcome to choose L size. I find that wearing these 8-16 hours a day will gradually tone your abs and decrease your overall waist size by a few inches.
