After reading dozens of rave reviews in the beauty community that this is a scam for LaMer, I decided to try Skin Food with the intention of putting it on my to use face. Overall, I really like this product, but there are things I wish I knew before purchasing: - This is an incredibly thick formula, comparable to cream cheese. I'd like to joke, at first I thought maybe the formula is cold or muddled, but it's true. Be sure to warm it up in your hands before applying! - Has a strong odor. Personally, the smell didn't bother me, very vegetable and natural thanks to the oils used, such as sweet almond oil, rosemary and calendula. For people who prefer lighter scents, this might not be for you. The cream cheese formula makes my skin very, very oily. It doesn't absorb into my skin as easily as I had hoped and leaves shiny marks everywhere. No warming up, applying or dabbing will help. It will NOT look good under your makeup. Apply to cheekbones as a highlighter? Yes. Do you use it as a pre-makeup moisturizer? You will look like a melting snowman. Final verdict? Despite what I mentioned above, this was a great nighttime moisturizer. It locks in any other serums you apply underneath and when I wake up in the morning my skin looks plump and glowing. It's all natural, with no mineral oil or preservatives, and it's affordable. I will buy again!
