Review on πŸŽ₯ Enhanced Conference Lighting Camera & Photo: Perfect for Video Conferencing, Broadcasting, and Streaming by Ken Reed

Good light for the time

I spend a lot of my working time with the most common video conferencing software (Zoom, Webex, Teams, Skype, GoToMeeting.). In cases where I need to show myself on a video rather than a PowerPoint or spreadsheet, I want to showcase my old self in the best light I can. This little light is great for that purpose. I'm a photo and video lover and this isn't something you would use for field work as it's not bright enough. It's just perfect for illuminating yourself on video calls. I took some photos to show the color temperature adjustment range and as I am Asian you can see how I look at 2800K, 5500K and 8500K. I thought the two lower settings were about right. I think 8500Β°K is a bit optimistic - it looks more like 6000Β°K to me. However, it's great that you can turn the little knob on the back to choose the heat level you want. The same button can switch the function to brightness by short pressing the button/button. A long press turns the light on or off. A small tripod is handy for this purpose. When fully extended it stands approximately 16.5 inches from the desk to the top of the lantern. The telescopic column is made of metal and maintains its height through friction. That's enough for the flashlight and my iPhone 7 Plus. It all breaks down into a flashlight, phone holder, speaker, and tripod base (which folds away) so you can easily pack it up if you ever go outside again. It would be nice to provide a small carry case for this purpose. one of my collection. The light is powered via USB C. I had no trouble charging it. I usually turn the light on at 70-80% when the diffuser is on. That's fine for my purposes with a battery that lasts a few hours. There is one thing preventing me from giving this five stars. That said, the adjustment knob/knob isn't textured enough. It's a bit smooth and made of hard plastic as you can see in the photo. I wish it had had some small gripping grooves to make turning easier. It's not impossible now, but since the protrusion is very far away (to reduce accidental triggering I think) grooves, knurling or even a rubber grip would be better. Not a deal killer, but an oversight that catches my eye. I now have a truly adjustable light and want to constantly adjust it, which would be easier if the button was easier to hold. All of the above aside, this is a great little kit and I'm making it my core set. conference light.
