This was the only bag I could find at a reasonable price that would cover my 8 inch Casper mattresses so I bought two (both king sized , to cover a full mattress, and a king-size mattress -large mattress). The bag itself worked fine. First, once I could get good suction at the valve. I used a Home Depot "bucket" which was NOT strong enough to really compress these mattresses. I let it run for a very long time, which I didn't want to do. to do with my better vacuum, but the mattresses still barely got small enough to wrap around a strap (not the bags' fault). I broke two of the four straps, so I had to resort to legal tie-down straps. The bags protected the mattresses in the moving truck well enough, but let in significant amounts of air and the only thing holding things together at this point were the straps. So yes, the bags worked, in the sense that I could get enough compresses by the gram strapped on, pushed around and unpacked with no problems, but i don't know if all the effort was worth it. A regular mattress bag with the mattress propped up in the truck would work just as well.
