Functional watch but buttons too easy to press

This is a good watch and there are a few things I really like about it, but the exposed buttons and mode cycle are culprits for me. A perfectly acceptable alternative (in my opinion) are Armitron Sport Men's 406623, which have many similar features and qualities, but have protected side buttons and different modes assigned to different buttons. For this watch (40/8291): Advantages: 1. Velcro strap. I love this for running applications because it fits perfectly around my wrist so it doesn't pinch or bounce. I also like the feel of the fabric rather than the sweaty plastic strap.2. Good qualities (waterproof, backlit, stopwatch, etc.) for the price. Cons: 1. The side buttons are not protected and are very prone to accidental presses. I accidentally started/stopped the stopwatch many times, which skewed the pace calculation for the entire run. That in itself is a deal breaker for me.2. This watch has four modes and you need to switch between them with just one button (unlike other watches where multiple buttons can be used to access different modes). This is very inconvenient if you are doing something active, such as B. Running, and you don't have the extra time and attention to make sure you're in the right mode. I've started or stopped the stopwatch incorrectly many times because I accidentally switched to the wrong mode. To make matters worse, this watch not only maps all modes to a single button, but also adds a fifth button on the bezel that has an identical function to one of the side buttons.
