I've had a hard time using longer smooth-surface roller skates in my gym, even after a roller-based workout with my trainer. After suspending my gym membership due to COVID, I started running and hiking more, but didn't spend much time stretching and other exercises. This resulted in some pain in the hips, knees and along the outside of the legs. I realized I needed to diversify my routine and add skating. This shorter and wider roller is comfortable to use and its textured surface makes it easier to control. It definitely helps reduce the discomfort along with some strength training and stretching. I also like the length which makes it easier to store and use.
