These were purchased as surround back speakers for a 5.1 system consisting of ELAC B5.2 Series speakers and a 12" SVS subwoofer . The ELAC speakers are great, but I wanted smaller and more efficient speakers than the ELAC for my surround back. It's still quite difficult to find quality and affordable surround back speakers, especially if you don't want your rear speakers Speakers take up a lot of space Lack of space or too much pressure. .After much research I decided to give them a try based on the great reviews, small size, great looks and most good experiences with Polk speakers I power them remotely with a small cheap 50w wireless amplifier. They look very high quality, I especially like the look without the grille The high frequency sound is much better and easier to hear than the previous Polk speakers which were often harsh and even painful. for now. The grilles are magnetic, which is very nice. Cons: A bit lacking in bass and bass, which is to be expected from any small speaker with a 4-inch driver. Edit after a month of use - I almost returned them as the sound seemed very thin compared to the rest of my speakers. After around 60 hours of use the sound has greatly improved and they now sound much fuller, not as cramped and limited as when they were new. I now feel that the Polk S10s are great for surround back and do a great job in that role in my system. Field speakers in an office or computer sound good, but a subwoofer is very useful to fill in the missing bass sounds.
