I am a first time parent to our baby (now 2 months old). We wanted the baby to be in his own room and crib from the start. So until recently we used Vtech's video monitor. However, our baby developed gas problems and spat up all night and was restless. With the old monitor, we couldn't tell if the baby woke up and was actively spitting up or if it was normal to spitting up while sleeping. We wouldn't know when to actually go to the child and when to let him sleep. When we had Micah it was clear what was wrong with our baby and when to act as he controls vital signs and sleep without additional attachments. Other options required tying devices to our child, which we didn't want. Packaging, Installation and Access. When we received Mika it came in a very nice package and arrived quickly. Everyone provided a spirit level, a screwdriver, even a tape measure! The items were clearly labeled and assembly was very easy. The device and application instructions are easy to understand. Installing Miku on the wall, registering, granting access and connecting to the WiFi took no more than 10 minutes. We only had to power cycle the system once after setup for it to recognize our WiFi. So if you're having trouble connecting to your home WiFi, just toggle Miku on and off and it will find your WiFi. You control the access to the app and you can check our child anytime and anywhere from your phone. . Whether you are at home, in the yard, in the office or on vacation, you can see what's going on. We never had connection problems. I also like the fact that even with the app running in the background, you can still play audio through your phone's speaker with no repercussions. Features: The Miku monitor has many great features including very clear two-way calls and the ability to take snapshots without lag, something I haven't seen with most monitors. However, the ability to see how your child is breathing "at a glance” makes this system amazing. I like knowing that I'll be notified if something happens while she's sleeping. Night vision and a respiration monitor helped us make sure she was sleeping safely. Another plus is the ability to view sleep analytics night by night. As we continue to teach her to sleep, we see that this will be of great help. The monitor constantly updates the temperature and humidity in the room, making sure that she sleeps comfortably. I also like the music option which has both lullabies and sounds preloaded. I can only imagine that this product will continue to improve and add more music or create features that allow you to upload your own music to play. With this feature, no additional sound machine is needed and the sound quality is really excellent. You have the option to turn on any of the sounds for 15-30 minutes and then repeat. I had it all night. That was great. Being first-time parents there is a lot to learn and adapt, but Miku was a great help and eased our minds. I look forward to seeing what new and exciting features are added to this amazing monitor.
