What you need to know before you buy.

A lot of the reviews for the belted version of this dress are from people who have noticed how beautiful the dress looked on the model without realizing how she was wearing it. I did the same. Luckily I bought it to wear as a nightgown and thought it would be a little, shall we say, out of place. To be clear, here's what you need to know about the belted version of this dress. The redesign is different. First, the model wears one size larger than necessary and gathers excess fabric at the center front. This allows you to properly close both the chest and buttocks. The belt serves as a sizing guide by keeping this line centered. You can add extra stitches to hold that tuft of fabric together, or just to keep the bust and hem from separating as you move. When worn stretched out, like the models wearing the new beltless version of this dress, tight around the bust and waist, it will reveal the world of parts of your body you might not want to show. It's not an 'if', it's a 'when', and to wear the belted version tucked in like the unbelted version, you'll need to add seams to the bust and skirt to hold them together. Compared to other clothes, almost all of these beautiful velvet dresses from China are shown on unusually tall women, who are usually 1.67 to 1.60 m tall. This dress is shown on a short model. I saw her use some photos of dresses that were slightly shorter to make the dress look better. Again, she is a small woman, at most 1.50 m tall, if at all. I'm five foot six. This dress opens exactly four inches below where you don't want colleagues at a corporate party to see you walking by. I tested it on another 5'1" body with a slightly different body type and it was about 5 inches below her most intimate zone according to the measurements she took and she was clearly outraged that I could think. such a dress until I said it was a nightgown. Again, having bought it as a nightgown, it's perfect. In public, this can be a disaster. Please take a good look at the model and how she wears the dress if you plan to wear it on the street. If you go up a size, more than you need, and then sew a few stitches at the top and bottom, and then gather the fabric in the front, as with the model, the belted version of this dress looks a lot more attractive than the new version of the dress in thinner fabric , less "draped", with a small bow at the side. The ruching at the front is exactly what makes it more expensive than many similar dresses. Pulling it tighter opens it up for people to see, but it also loses its design quality. I'm a lover of detail, so I mostly wear vintage clothes. For me, this is a five-star dress made in China. If you measure yourself carefully and buy a size up so that the line under the bust/belt is a little looser, gather the fabric like on the model and do a few modest stitches on the fabric, it will wow! the broadcast. If left like this the house will be wow. I wouldn't normally say that, but I recommend the latter. It's better than most nightgowns today. Good luck finding what works for you. i really love it
